The way to God's Heart

The-book-of-Psalms.jpg

The Psalms tell us that trouble is normal, darkness is possible, reverses are likely, and ordinariness is celebrated. Studying the Psalms is a wonderful way to enter into the world of God’s inspired and inspiring poems. The place Psalms have held in the lives of God’s people testifies to their universality, although they have a peculiar Jewish application. They express the deep feelings of all believing hearts in all generations. The Psalms are full of Christ. Many of the Psalms are sincere prayers (Psalm 63, 51, and 139), offering insight and guidance in how we should pray. But the bulk of this poetic collection is a meditation on and proclamation of the greatness of God, His power, and how worthy He is of all we can offer Him.The Psalms provide instruction and songs to lift our praise to God.
